In Loving Memory Tomika Marie "Teka" Vallo 12/13/1973 - 7/22/2010

Tomika Marie “Teka” Vallo, age 36, of Harvard, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 13, 1973 in Chicago to James V. and Kathy A. (Darnell) Vallo. She attended Taft High School in Chicago, and later resided in Marengo, Rockford, and for the past year, in Harvard.

Teka was employed as an IT analyst. She was very talented in using the computer, and was always intrigued by the latest electronic gadgets. She enjoyed using Facebook to keep in touch with her friends, and they could always use her as a resource for any computer questions. Music was another interest, as well as loving animals and caring for her three cats.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Kathy and Jimmy Valentine of Wonder Lake; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Shirley Helm of Itasca; three half siblings, Tracy, Amanda, and Jimmy; her aunt, Debbie Wilson of Conway, Arkansas; and two cousins (who were like her brothers), Christopher and Joe Diles.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Vallo; and her paternal grandparents, James & Ione Vallo.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 26, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.

The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. David Gaddini officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded privately following the service.
